Week 5
1. Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I personally do believe that Artificial intelligence will become a problem in the future. The reason I believe it will become a problem is because the more advance it becomes the more people will depend on it. As we have seen in the younger generations that have grown up with technology that the children are dependent on it. Anywhere you go you are bound to see a young child playing on the parents phone or on an ipad or tablet. The most recent advance in technology that is concerning is the story of a McDonalds imputing computers to take a persons order rather then providing a job. The reason for imputing these computers is to cut back on paying people, although it causes a bigger problem. The problem being that if a machine can replace a person in that job with further advances machines can replace even more jobs. Although advances in technology can be great for the human race without monitoring it can cause more problems.
2. How has technology impacted your life?
As the technology changes with every phone or tablet or just to make life simpler for humans I find myself less and less active and more reliant on it. For instance first thing I do when I wake up is check Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat then I go on Youtube to listen to music. I constantly have my phone in my hand and if its not in my hand its most likely charging so I can use it. The worst thing is that I have been driving for almost four years and I still do not know my freeways because I am so reliant on the GPS navigation on the phone. The bad that comes with advances in technology is that family gathering or gatherings with friends become based on the phones no one really interacts with each other. Another bad outcome is the young children are always on the tablets or phone instead of being physically active. Although the advances in technology have some negative affects majority of the advances have made life easier and efficient for humans.
