Do you think artificial intelligence will be a significant problem in the future?
I really do not think it will be a major issue in the future, at that we will probably have many good advantages that we yet do not have. The only thing about it is, will people even want to think anymore? Basically humans will be manipulated by technology. Computers and any other technological device will take over many people’s jobs. Most likely there will be a high demand for engineering jobs, which will be good. At work we recently got a check in machine, where the patient does not even need to speak to a receptionist, all they do is put in there medical card to get registered. Some of the receptionist at work are actually a little worried they might end up loosing their job in the future. In the book Digital philosophy it mentions “We are being hijacked and don’t even know it”. I would think that relates to we are slowly moving into artificial intelligence without even knowing, until one they we realize we can not go back anymore to the old times when we humans did things on our own.
How has technology impacted your life?
I am actually really grateful to technology and how far along it has came. Not really because of all the cool gadgets we can all attain, but because of all the advances it has done to help medicine and give treatments to many people in need. My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago through a mammogram. Since it was caught on time her stage level was 2, and she had clear lymph nodes. If it wasn’t for technology my mom would of never felt the lump since it was deep down in the tissues below her areola, by the time she would of felt the lump it would of most likely traveled to other parts of the body. Makes me feel really blessed to live during these era, since I am sure so many people died of breast cancer in the past since there was not technology to detect it.
