Matter is everything around you. Atoms and molecules are all composed of matter. Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. There are three states of matte gases, liquids, and solids. Liquids are like water, oil, and soda they actually mold themselves to fit in there objects. When looking through a microscope you will see that the particles are basically knitted together while still moving everywhere. Gases are like air, steam, and helium, which basically free-flows and you can put your hand through them. Gases moves to fit their bottle and can even fill it. Their molecules are spaced far apart and is loosey goosey when it comes to moving around. Solids are like a pressed buttoned up, computer desk, or the statue of liberty because they are firm and stable. Their molecules are grouped together in structured patterns. You might catch little movement but they stay packed together.
